Weekly Newsletter for 5/26/17

Dear Room 4 Families,

Can you only believe there are less than 3 weeks left in the school year?! This week we enjoyed listening to each other’s presentations for our Famous American Project. As the year wraps up, we have been working on the skills we need for third grade. We are also wrapping up our various units of study.

This week in math, we worked on 3-digit addition and subtraction with and without regrouping. We solved word problems and worked on mixed skill worksheet, learning to pay attention to the sign and remembering which way to regroup. We have also started our multiplication concepts unit by learning that multiplication is just repeated addition and that one way we can solve a multiplication problem is by drawing an array.

In English Language Arts, we are working on main idea/detail, compare and contrasting two texts, and finding evidence in the text. We are wrapping up our all about projects and are on the final draft and illustration phase. We will be celebrating by presenting our projects to our classmates once everyone is finished.

There is NO SCHOOL on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. School will resume on Tuesday, May 30th.

Week 31 will be the last homework packet for second grade! Here are next week’s homework links:

Have a great 3-day weekend!

-Ms. You
