Weekly Newsletter for 11/4/16

Dear Room 4 Parents,

This week we reversed switched our Mandarin/English language arts classes. Second grade students are working on review terms with me in Room 4, and doing English Language Arts with Mrs. Osberg in Room 7 while Mr. Chen is away.

In English Language Arts, we are using our recounting skills from last week to help us understand the events from Stone Soup, which is a literature study that we will be doing for the month of November, which will end in a celebration. Your child enjoyed 2 different versions of the story, where they created an anchor chart mapping the similarities and differences between the two stories.

For math, we are preparing for our benchmark math test as we work with concepts of place value and reviewing what we have learned so far this year.

There will be NO SCHOOL next Friday in observance of Veteran’s Day. Also, please note that we are turning our clocks an hour back on Sunday.
