Dear Room 4 Families,
This week we finished our Zentangle pieces for the art show on Saturday, May 21st from 10am-2pm. As the year comes to an end, we will continue to be learning and applying our learning to various activities. We will also be wrapping up with assessments and end of the year activities to close out this school year. A math benchmark assessment will be given in the upcoming week and will be used to guide math grades for our last report card. Please help your child review their math from this year.
This week in English Language Arts we have been working on character traits versus point of view. We are also continuing with learning how to summarize and noticing the author’s craft. Your child has been enjoying studying how author’s organize non-fiction books as they finish their rough drafts and work on their final draft copies of their All About writing with research.
This week in Math we have been revisiting regrouping 3-digit numbers in addition and subtraction. We also worked with partner to solve word problems using multiple problem solving strategies.
As a friendly reminder, the Famous American project is due on Monday, 5/22 and will be presented throughout the week. Please have your child practice what they are going to say as they will be unable to read from their project once they are wearing it. If they do not present on Monday, etc., please have your child practice what they are going to say so they are ready when it is their turn.
