We are very excited to have Stonebrae participating in this year’s Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco! If you are new to this parade, please visit the Chinese parade website at: http://www.chineseparade.com and learn the history, search for general information, the new parade route, and/or ordering of bleacher tickets.
Remember to set your DVR to KTVU Fox 2 or KTSF Channel 26 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 23rd, 2013.
Schedule
All parade students must report to the music room and sign-in on Saturday, February 23rd at 1:30 pm. Only students, staff, and volunteer chaperons will ride the bus to San Francisco. The bus will leave the school at 2:15 pm. If our group finishes at 7:00 pm, we will meet at the bus at 7:30 pm. The bus leaves San Francisco at 8:00 pm and returns to Stonebrae by 9:00 pm. Parents and family members, please arrange your own transportation. If you plan to check out your child at the end of the parade, please notify us ahead of time and sign out your children at the end of the parade. You can meet us at the corner of Columbus and Jackson.
Please remember to dress your student warmly under their parade uniform. First choice would be a black or red long-sleeved crew neck shirt for the top, and thermals or leggings for the bottom. For shoes, we recommend black shoes, however comfortable shoes are the most important. If your child needs to wear gloves, we recommend black gloves. The parade will go on rain or shine, so we will have rain ponchos available for students should we need them.
Please send healthy and hearty dinner snacks for your child. This will be for before and after the parade. After our arrival in San Francisco and before the parade start time (a minimum of one hour), your child will have time to eat and drink. Please mark your child’s lunchbox with their name.
The parade will line up at Market Street and end at the corner of Columbus and Jackson.
Have a wonderful time!
