Weekly Newsletter for 5/23/14

Dear Room 4 Families,

Next week’s homework packet was passed out today for your child to start working on during the long weekend, if desired. This is the last homework packet for the year. Lingt is currently not working for me, so I will post the link when it becomes available. There is no school on Monday 5/26.

English Language Arts

Working on:  multiple meaning words,  plural nouns,  suffixes (-er and -est), comparing words, compound words,  word endings, writing a list

Math

Our class is has finished our unit on multiplication and will start on division. Please continue working with your child on reviewing skills such as regrouping, telling time, and fractions.

Chinese
Current Textbook Lessons: Shuang Shuang 3.6, Better Chinese Lesson 22
Things we did:

• Learned about prices and buying things in Chinese
• Wrote about the weather for yesterday, today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow.
• Learned about the seasons and the weather
• Practiced new grammar patterns using our vocabulary words
• Learned how to write our dictation words in stroke order
• Practiced our dictation words, different variations of reading aloud, writing, singing songs, searching for our vocabulary words in our text.
