Weekly Newsletter for 10/3/14

Dear Room 4 Families,

This week your child had a great time exploring literacy through Berkeley Repretory Theater’s Storybuilder’s workshop. Your child had the opportunity to interact, move, perform, and use their imagination to understand the elements of a story. Each child had the opportunity to come up and perform a scene from the story in front of the class.

Tomorrow, I will be running a booth with Ms. Teng and Ms. Immesoete at Science in the Park. This free event includes many interactive booths, science projects with take-away activities, and other fun adventures! If you are going to be there tomorrow, come drop by our booth for some hula hoop fun! We will be there from 9am-4pm.

The first day of ELD/ALD starts next Friday, October 10th. We will switch classes after lunch. Students in ELD will go to Room 8 and students in ALD will stay in Room 4 with other 2nd grade students.

I will be out for knee surgery on Tuesday, October 7th. I plan to be back as soon as possible and will be working closely with our substitute Mrs. Gosal with lesson planning. If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please direct them to the office or Mrs. G. I will try to answer e-mails as I am able to. The weekly newsletters may be postponed until I am able to sit at a computer. Thank you for being understanding.
