Weekly Newsletter 12/4/14

Dear Room 4 Families,

I hope everyone had a relaxing Thanksgiving break with their families. It was wonderful to meet you this week for your parent-teacher conference. Please feel free to contact me throughout the year if you would like to check in your child’s progress or have any questions.

There is no school tomorrow, Friday 12/5/14. Your child came home with their Week 11 homework packet today. We will resume our alternating test schedule with our Mandarin dictation test next Friday with the words from Week 10 and Week 10.5 homework.

I am currently working on planning and finalizing the dates for some upcoming classroom events, including our field trip to CuriOdyssey. The tentative date is Friday, May 15th and may be subject to change depending on availability. We will be taking a school bus with Room 7 students, so space will be limited for chaperons. If you are interested in being a parent chaperon on the bus, you will need to have your school volunteer paperwork which includes the volunteer form, TB test, and fingerprinting completed and filed in the office before I submit the paperwork to the school district for approval (which will be soon) so please plan ahead!

This week your child has been busy working on compare and contrast writing, a literature study on Stone Soup, working with geometry, time, fractions, multiplication concepts, and working cooperatively with each other.

Also, the Winter Concert is this Saturday, December 6th in concurrence with the PTA Pancake Breakfast. Please ask your child when and where they are supposed to meet.

Here are the links for next week’s homework:

Have a wonderful 3-day weekend!

-Ms. You
