Weekly Newsletter for 1/16/15

Dear Room 4 Families,

Thank you for your donations towards our field trips this year. Our 2nd graders are so excited to be able to have so many fun experiences this year. If you are interested in chaperoning, please make sure that you have your volunteer paperwork completed and that you have expressed your interest in attending to our room parent, who has been working hard to coordinate all of the details.

This week your child has been working on mental math (adding, subtracting, place value, regrouping, patterns, and word problems), writing instructional pieces in their how-to writing unit, learning how to improve comprehension with partner reading and questioning, as well as examining expository texts, and more!

There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 19th. School will resume on Tuesday, the 20th. Your child should have their homework packet to work on over the long weekend. Flat Stanley is also due on Tuesday the 20th. If your Flat Stanley is currently somewhere else, please let your child know to tell me that he is traveling in the mail and on his way back.
