Weekly Newsletter for 5/22/15

Dear Room 4 Families,

It was a pleasure seeing you at Open House on Tuesday. Your child was very proud to show off their work from second grade! As we are wrapping up the school year, we will still be busy continuing to learn the skills that we need for third grade. Please send your child to school with a brown paper bag with a handle so that we can take home all of our things on the last week of school. If you have any extra bags, they would be appreciated! The bags won’t be used until the last week of school, so please do not write your child’s name as they will be mixed up in a pile to be passed out later.

This week we have been continuing with measurement, graphing, and data analysis. We will begin multiplication concepts next week as well as taking our last math assessment for report cards. Your child has been continuing with non-fiction, informational writing with research. We have been studying non-fiction texts and using the facts from the stories that we read to justify our writing.

Here are next week’s homework links:

There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. School will resume on Tuesday, May 26th.

Other important dates:

  • May 27th – Volunteer Breakfast – Spring Concert
  • June 5th – Mandarin Showcase – Field Day
  • June 10th – Last Day of School

Have a wonderful 3-day weekend!

-Ms. You
