Weekly Newsletter for 1/15/16

Dear Room 4 Families,

Today your child enjoyed a trip from the Hayward Fire Department to learn about their jobs and general fire safety. Your child’s job from the fire department was to pick a safe spot to meet in case of a fire and your family needs to evacuate.

This week we started our opinion writing unit. Your child is learning the difference between a fact and an opinion. In math, we are working on friendly tens to help us add and subtract mentally.

There is no school next Monday, January 18, 2016. School resumes normal hours on Tuesday. I will be out of the classroom on Wednesday with the other Mandarin teachers for professional development.
