Dear Room 4 Families,
What crazy weather we’ve been having this week! Please make sure your child has a jacket in the morning. We have many items in the lost and found. Check for your child’s lost clothing and other items before the end of the school year, where they will be donated.
This week we have been busy with our new math unit, Measurement and Data. This week we have been learning how to use rulers to measure in inches and centimeters. We discussed how to identify and use half inches and half centimeters, estimating reasonable amounts, and solving word problems using measurement. Next week we will start on data and graphing.
In English Language arts, we are learning about point of view (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and how to identify and write with different points of view. We will transition into character’s point of view next week.
Field trip permission slips have gone home. Please check your child’s backpack, fill out all of the information, sign and return to school. If your child has no medical conditions or allergies, please put “none” in the blank. Permission slips are due on Friday, May 13th. If your child has lost their permission slip, you need to contact me directly to receive another one. All of our chaperons have completed the volunteer process and their names have been approved by the school district. No new chaperons can be added at this time.
Please keep a look out on Monday for a project that will be assigned!
