Weekly Newsletter for 2/8/16

Dear Room 4 Families,

Room 4 students learned so much during this very short week! Your child presented their Heritage Doll in front of the class and learned how to be a good audience. They loved learning about each other and seeing each other’s dolls. Pictures will be posted on your child’s individual class story instead of directly through messenger.

In English Language Arts, we have been working on starting our Reader’s Workshop routine within our read to self center. We have set our group rotation schedule and I am pulling students for small group instruction or for assessment. We are still working on our poetry unit and will continue next week. So far we have learned about personification poems, acrostic poems, and shape poems.

In Math, we are working on geometry and distinguishing between plane shapes and solid figures. We have learned about partitioning shapes and drawing rows and columns.

There is no school tomorrow, Friday, December 8th for Parent Teacher Conferences. If you were unable to make your appointment, please contact me to reschedule or have a phone appointment.
