Dear Room 4 Families,
This short week really flew by fast! We have been busy with preparing for assessments as our 2nd trimester of school comes to an end. We will be taking our math benchmark test next week and wrapping up our reading assessments.
This week in English Language Arts we have been focusing on different types of genre as well as using visualizing as a strategy to support comprehension. We will be continuing with it next week as we learn how to use clues and descriptive details to build the “movie” in our minds as we read books.
This week in math we have been working on subtracting larger numbers. We will review some concepts we learned earlier this year before taking our benchmark assessment next week.
Monday, February 27th is a minimum day with dismissal at 1:00pm.
As a reminder, 2nd grade is participating in the science fair. Please return the slip that was handed out last week with your child’s project proposal by next Friday, March 3rd.
