Dear Room 4 Families,
It was great seeing everyone last Friday during our Mandarin Showcase! Our class did such a great job!
Field trip permission slips have been distributed in your child’s Friday Folder. The tentative schedule and field trip details are also included on a separate sheet for you to keep. Please fill out each box and return it to school by Friday, May 11th. Students will be grouped in their animal research groups to conduct field research and take notes about their animals.
This week in English Language Arts…
We are learning about homophones, contractions, ow/ou spelling, and measure words (ie. a flock of birds). We will be learning about making inferences next week in non-fiction text.
This week in Writing..
We have been working with partners on a scavenger hunt for text features in non-fiction texts. This is preparation for our field trip research writing that we will begin on next week.
This week in Math…
We finished our unit with graphing and solving word problems using graphs. We will begin adding/subtracting 3-digit numbers with and without regrouping next week.
