Weekly Newsletter for 2/28/20

Dear Room 4 Families,

This week we finished taking our Mandarin trimester test. Your child learned about leap day and why During this minimum day week, we have been busy learning and having fun! Next week, we go back to a regular schedule.

This Week in ELA/Writing…

We focused on the oy/oi dipthong spelling, using context clues, and homonyms. We have returned to our opinion writing unit. Your child has been learning to state their opinion and to give a reason using facts. We will continue with building our paragraph next week.

This Week in Math…

We have been working on mixed addition and subtraction with and without regrouping. Your child has also been solving many different types of word problems. After this review, your child will be working with 3 digit numbers.

This Week in Chinese…

We have been learning about the harvest and what things we can plant, grow, and harvest. We are learning about the plant cycle, starting with seeds. You child has been enjoying the many games we play during our Mandarin time to help build vocabulary. We are also practicing our showcase song for our Mandarin Showcase.
