Stonebrae Room 4 – Weekly Newsletter for 3/20/15

Dear Room 4 Families,

Your child had a fun-filled week. They were very excited to go on their field trip to Lawrence Hall of Science. They learned about vertebrates and had the opportunity to explore the skeletal structures of various live animals. Room 4 students loved exploring the science exhibits and watching a 3-D movie made by National Geographic. There are parents in both Room 4 and Room 7 that have requested that pictures of their children not be posted publicly online in albums, on Facebook, etc. Please be mindful of that when sharing pictures.

This week we have been lifting the level of narrative writing by focusing on small moment stories and stretching that moment across many pages. Your child has been learning to work in cooperative groups on assignments and projects. We are working on decoding the vocabulary in word problems and using multiple methods to solve mixed math problems.

Your child was assigned an insect report to complete as homework during spring break. The project is due on Monday, April 13th. I will be out of the country and unavailable until April 7th. Please check your child’s backpack for the insect book as I will not be able to give you another copy until we return to school. The assignment sheet is available to view here: https://graceyou.com/spring-break-homework-project-insect-report/
