Weekly Newsletter for 2/11/16

Dear Room 4 Families,

Thank you to the families that donated to the classroom this week! Your contributions were greatly appreciated. This week we had many special days with Chinese New Year on Monday, 100th day of school on Wednesday, and our class Valentine’s Day celebration on Thursday.

This week your child learned about Chinese culture, mentored a student from Ms. Lin’s Kindergarten classroom, completed many 100th day of school activities, and also participated in a Valentine’s Day craft and party.

Because of the short week and holiday schedule, we were not able to get very far with our unit with time. We will resume that unit next week as well as review for our upcoming benchmark math assessment.

In ELA, we have been learning about making inferences, regaining independent and focused reading, and moving up our reading levels for our book bags, if applicable. Some students did not go up in their reading level because of their comprehension. Please help your child remember and analyze what they just read by asking and answering questions.

There is no school tomorrow, Friday, February 11th and Monday, February, 15th. Please enjoy your 4-day weekend!

Here are next week’s homework links – the Chinese portion will be up over the weekend.
