Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year

Dear Room 4 Families,

Welcome back to school! I’m looking forward to a fun and educational year with your child this year. I hope that everyone had a great summer. The first few weeks of school will have a big focus on learning rules, classroom procedures, establishing a respectful learning community, and adjust to our new schedule.

Room 4 and Room 7 will be team teaching this year. Our new Chinese teacher Ms. Li will be teaching 2nd grade Mandarin, Social Studies, and Science in Room 7 and Ms. You will be teaching English Language Arts, Writing, and Math in Room 4.  We ask that you be patient as your child adjusts to the transition back to school and to our switching schedule.  You can check our A/B rotation weeks to see where your child will be dismissed on the google calendar in the navigation bar above.

We are working on balancing out our instructional minutes as we get our prep schedule and school calendar. We will notify you of any big changes or important dates through ClassDojo, a classroom organization app that includes a daily behavior report and quick communication to your teachers. Please make sure that you sign up so that you are kept in the loop. All of our communication is posted in the ClassDojo app or website. Your child should have their class code included on their first day of school packet

Please make sure all forms are completed and returned to school. Some of the information seems repetitive, but it is going to different areas of the school (classroom, office, teacher, etc.) and it is important that this information is returned.

Thank you for the families who have brought supplies to school already. The list is available for you to view HERE. Our classroom Amazon wishlist is located HERE and will benefit both Room 4 and Room 7 students. Donations of new and gently used items for our classroom treasure chest are greatly appreciated throughout the year.
