Weekly Newsletter for 6/7/19

Dear 2nd Grade Families,

Your child was sad for our last full week of school. Next week we will be on a minimum day schedule with the last day of school on Thursday. Monday is field day from 8:45 am to 10:55 am. Since we are on Week B schedule, we will be going to field day with the opposite teacher. Our last day of switching is on Wednesday and we will conclude the school year with our homeroom teacher on Thursday.

For field day, please remember that it is going to be HOT! Please apply sunscreen to your child before they come to school, make sure they eat a good breakfast, and have a water bottle with their name and room number on it. There will be water games so a change of socks, a towel, and a change of clothes are advised. Since it is a minimum day, there will not be much time for your child to call home for a change of clothes in the afternoon. Please also remind your child to wear their PE shoes/sneakers on Monday.

This Week in ELA/Writing…

We are studying the -mb spelling pattern, working with homophones, story structure, and describing characters. We are finishing up our “All About” projects and are working on a laptop for our plant unit.

This Week in Math…

We have been working with arrays and repeated addition, word problems, measurement, and partitioning into equal shares.

This Week in Chinese…
