Weekly Newsletter for 1/31/20

Dear Room 4 Families,

This week your child enjoyed a wonderful Chinese New Year’s assembly with 3 of our Room 4 students performing. Your child has been enjoying listening to each other’s Flat Stanley Projects and seeing all of the fun places and various adventures that Stanley has gotten himself into.

This Week in English Language Arts/Writing…

Your child has been busy writing final drafts of their All About Writing. In preparation for their opinion writing unit, we have been taking surveys and learning to express our opinion. Your child will be taking a writing assessment for “All About” writing and we will be preparing how to organize our paragraphs into an all about book.

This Week in Math…

Your child has been learning how to ungroup 2-digit and 3-digit numbers in subtraction. Many students are having difficulty with the concept. Please practice at home and check over your child’s work in their Friday folder.

This Week in Chinese…

We have been learning adjectives to describe the bodies/traits of different animals and people. We are starting to practice songs for our upcoming Mandarin Showcase in March.
